The Western Canadian based company, which started in 1996, will remain headquartered in Calgary according to the Founder and Chairman, Clive Beddoe.

The friendly deal is reported to be worth $5 billion. Onex Corporation, which is buying out WestJet, says it has tremendous respect for the business built over the years acknowledging its unparalleled guest experience and employee culture.
