It’s my Parting Shot for some Monday Musings…
It was nice to unintentionally, but thankfully, forget to take my phone with me for a relaxing Easter weekend out of town…then come home and catch up on what I missed!
Marc Habscheid has a new cause to complain about following the first two games of his Prince Albert Raiders’ Eastern Conference final against Edmonton. With the best-of-seven tied 1-1, Habscheid isn’t happy with the Oil Kings’ bumping into P-A goaltender Ian Scott on a frequent basis…especially in Game 2. I’m with Habby on this, goaltender interference and contact with the most important player becimeon a team is far too commonplace right now. It shouldn’t matter whether it’s playoffs, the standard needs to be maintained and a zero tolerance needs to be maintained. It’s a rule, though, that is open to too much interpretation…kind of like roughing the passer in football! Without quaity quarterbacks and goaltenders, football and hockey become laughing stock sports! Time for the leagues to figure that out!!
Are Canadian hockey fans ready to become united in supporting tht Toronto Maple Leafs as our home and native land’s last shot at winning a Stanley Cup? I’m not counting on a majority…even though it should happen!
I’ll be curious to see how curling looks, plays out and is attended at Merlis Belsher Place the rest of this week as the Grand Slam of Curling’s season-ending event comes to Saskatoon. The likely answer to all three of those questions is likely to be great…but I hope to see so for myself at some points this week!
That’s my Parting Shot, I’m Les Lazaruk…
