Canada’s inflation rate jumped to 1.9 per cent last month, up from 1.5 per cent in February. Statistics Canada reports we paid 15.7 per cent more for fresh vegetables, 8.1 per cent more on mortgage borrowing costs and 5.6 per cent more for car insurance. Saskatchewan’s rate rose to 1.8 per cent from 1.3. Only three provinces were higher. Saskatoon’s rate rose to 1.6 per cent from 1.2. Of 16 cities surveyed, nine had higher rates. Regina mirrored Saskatoon.
