With training camps underway, to use baseball vernacular, Saskatoon would not be struck out in its bid to host the Roar of the Rings!
Curling Canada announced Saturday that Saskatoon and SaskTel Centre will host the 2021 Canadian Olympic Curling Trials. The November 27-December 5 event will determine Canada’s representatives in women’s and men’s curling for the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, China. Ten women’s and 10 men’s teams will descend on Saskatoon and SaskTel Centre to compete for those honours. Curl Saskatoon had bid to host the 2013 and 2017 Trials, but were denied by Curling Canada each time. The last major national event to be held at SaskTel Centre was the 2012 Brier.
