The federal government is providing Economic Development Regina money to grow the local plant protein sector.
250 thousand dollars will be used for implementing a regional strategy to add value to the agri-foods industry.
Minister of Public Safety Ralph Goodale they’ll have several goals.
“Attract new companies to the area, support business start ups and growth, create new Indigenous agri-value enterprises and promote value added opportunities for Saskatchewan crops.”
Goodale says this will lead to more jobs, diversified economy and opportunity in Regina.
