More than $12-million in federal and provincial funding has been announced for crop research.
Saskatchewan’s Agriculture Minister, David Marit explains that the research projects are in a variety of fields of study, including herbicide resistance, pest control, and crop breeding. More specifically, one of the topics is developing a weed control system for herbicide resistant wild oat in wheat, and another is improving protein and seed quality in peas.
