Picture yourself walking along the river by the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan site one evening, listening to stories in your ear buds along a specially lit path, complete with an art installation.
It’s Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan’s pimohtewak, which is Cree for ‘the ones who walk’.
Spokesperson, Kristi Friday, explains that they received a grant from the City of Saskatoon through its Wintercity YXE project, which promotes winter activities to help residents and visitors enjoy the season more.
Pimohtewak is a unique, free performance with 4 half-hour events each night from January 22nd through 27th, but you have to register online first so you can download the podcast.
Kristi says Joseph Naytowhow’s stories are the personal experiences of he and his friends and family.
Naytowhow is a Cree/Metis residential school survivor.
