Two Metis men fined for hunting and fishing without licenses are going to appeal. President of the Metis National Council, Clement Chartier says their heritage allows them to hunt and fish wherever they want in the province. Billy Myette was found not guilty, Oliver Poitras was fined $500 plus an $80 dollar surcharge for hunting without a license and Warren Boyer was fined $1 plus a $40 dollar surcharge for fishing without a license. Poitras, Myette and Boyer were charged with hunting and fishing without licenses between 2012 and 2014. Poitras and Boyer have a month to file their appeals.
