The YWCA’s Shine a Light holiday campaign is rolling toward its goal of 40-thousand dollars.
Treasurer, Development and Communications manager Joy Ann Allin says over 15-thousand dollars has been raised for programs that benefit vulnerable women in Saskatoon.
Allin points out donors can put money directly toward programs like shelter housing, transitional housing, youth services, the child development centre for learning as well as wellness and employment programming.
Allin says the campaign helps pay for counselors and other operations costs to help women experiencing issues like homelessness or escaping violent situations.
In addition to individual donations people have been raising money at house parties and bake sales while businesses have been donating from staff and client events.
