It’s a three hour commitment and how you break that up, is up to you. That from Captain Laurie Sauder ith the Salvation Army in Saskatoon. She says they still have openings in Saskatoon for volunteers to ring the bells at their kettles this holiday season.
Captain Sauder says the kettle schedule is actually on line so you can sign up to be a volunteer and they see all the availabilities as to where there are spaces to fill. She says sometimes a family or group of friends get together and split the shifts between them.
In terms of fund raising she says they are sitting just below where they were at, at the same time last year. Captain Sauder says what they have really noticed is a drop in their on-line donations. She notes it is perfect for someone who doesn’t carry cash, then they can donate on-line.
