The Saskatchewan Roughriders will have four Canadian players, who spent varying amounts of time on their practice roster this past season, back at training camp in the spring.
The Green and White announced that Regina product, U of R Rams’ grad and receiver Mitchell Picton has re-signed with the team. The Riders also announced the signing of offensive lineman Emmanuel Adusei plus defensive linemen Mathieu Breton and Tresor Mafuta. Training camp begins in May in Saskatoon. RIDERS ADD FOUR NATIONALS TO ROSTER
The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed national offensive lineman Emmanuel Adusei, national defensive linemen Mathieu Breton and Tresor Mafuta, and national receiver Mitchell Picton to the roster.
Adusei (6’2 – 330) was originally selected by the Riders in the 7th round (57th overall) of the 2017 CFL Draft. As a rookie, the Carleton University product played one regular-season game, while spending the remainder of the season on the practice roster.
After being released following 2018 training camp, the 23-year-old returned to the Riders, spending the final four weeks of the regular season on the practice roster.
Breton (6’7 – 285) was selected by the Riders in the 5th round (36th overall) of the 2018 CFL Draft.
After signing with the Riders in May, the 24-year-old Bishop’s product spent the season on the practice roster.
Mafuta (6’1 – 295) was selected by the Riders in the 6th round (45th overall) of the 2018 CFL Draft.
The 25-year-old Saint Mary’s product spent parts of last season the Riders’ practice roster.
Picton (6’2 – 200) was originally selected by the Riders in the 5th round (37th overall) of the 2017 CFL Draft.
After returning to the University of Regina in for his final year of collegiate eligibility, Picton signed with the Riders in November of 2017 where he spent the playoffs on the teams’ practice roster.
Picton also spent the 2018 season on the Riders’ practice roster.
