There’ll be a different back-up goalie, at least to start the regular-season, while the practice roster is laden with unsigned players for the Saskatchewan Rush.
G-M and head coach Derek Keenan made several moves prior to registering Saskatchewan’s 21-man active roster and four-man practice roster before the National Lacrosse League’s deadline to do so on Monday. The Rush signed goaltender Adam Shute to a three-year contract and released long-time back-up Tyler Carlson. Saskatchewan placed defender Ryan Dilks on the Hold-Out list. Dilks, along with fellow defender Jeff Cornwall, is sitting out this season due to work commitments with new jobs. However, Cornwall was placed on the practice roster by the Rush…along with defenders Mike Messenger and Nik Bilic plus forward Robert Church. The latter trio are all unsigned. The N-L-L regular-season starts this Saturday, but Saskatchewan’s first action isn’t until December 28th in New England.
