As many as 40 families have pre-registered for this evening’s Sensitive Santa at Lawson Heights Mall.
The hustle and bustle of Christmas can be a challenge for families with a child on the autism spectrum. So the mall partners with Autism Services of Saskatoon and invites the families in at 5:30 pm immediately after the mall closes. That means less disruption to the children while they meet Santa Claus.
According to the latest estimates (March 2014) from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention 1 in 68 children has been identified with autism spectrum disorder.
