The defending N-L-L champion Saskatchewan Rush open weekend two of training camp this Friday in Saskatoon.
Head coach and GM Derek Keenan says it will be tough to replace defenders Ryan Dilks and Jeff Cornwall who will miss this season due to work commitments.
But, Keenan feels it’s a chance for second year man Nick Finlay, free agent Jordi Jones-Smith and a healthy Matt McGrotty to step up. McGrotty spent much of last season in the injured list.
Meanwhile, Robert Church, Nic Bilic, Marty Dinsdale and Mike Messenger are among players who remain unsigned. The 21-man roster has to be submitted by Monday.
The Rush host the Calgary Roughnecks Saturday in a pre-season contest at 7:30. The broadcast on 92.9 THE BULL signs on at 6:30.
