A dangerous situation for people on Idylwyld Drive yesterday afternoon (wed) as Saskatoon Police tried to stop a stolen vehicle. The incident began to unfold around four o’clock when Patrol Officers spotted the stolen Chevy Silverado speeding down the 100 block of 29th Street East. Police were successful in laying down stop sticks but the suspects kept driving anyway. Police say, as the vehicle traveled down Idylwyld, it sideswiped three vehicles while evading police. It then crossed into oncoming traffic and that’s when police pulled out of the chase. Five minutes later communications was told the vehicle was still northbound in the southbound lanes, traveling at a high speed. After a report that the vehicle struck a stop sign, and was parking at a business on the 38 hundred block of Idylwyld Drive North, Police pulled up and arrested the 28 year old male driver and 26 year old female passenger. Officers also allegedly confiscated bear spray, a knife, and ammunition from the vehicle. The driver faces numerous charges including Possession of a Dangerous Weapon and Evade Police. The passenger faces several charges including Possession of a Dangerous Weapon amd Breach of Probation.
