The best and brightest in Saskatchewan’s Health Research community will be recognized tonight (Thurs) in Saskatoon. The 15th annual Sante’ Awards will be handed out at TCU Place. Saskatchewan Health Research Foundation C-E-O Patrick Odnokon says there will be a showcase area featuring researchers, teams and partners funded by the foundation. The Lung Association of Saskatchewan group will include double-lung transplant recipient and breath ambassador Nicole Nelson. Odnokon calls today’s health research climate exciting and challenging. He points out there are studies ranging from the use of the latest high-tech equipment to improving health care delivery in rural and Indigenous communities amid the amalgamation of health districts into one provincial body. The foundation’s C-E-O also says innovation in health research attracts federal dollars which means more opportunities for students at places like Sask Polytechnic and the University of Saskatchewan.
