The RCMP and other emergency services were on the scene of a collision between a train and a SUV just northwest of Edenwold Thursday afternoon. Initial information is that the SUV was heading southbound when it collided with a train that was crossing gridroad 640. Five people were in the vehicle, four suffered injuries, one with serious injuries and all were transported to hospital. An RCMP accident reconstructionist attended the scene. Initially, RCMP said that CN Police would be taking over the investigation. Later, it was announced that White Butte RCMP had taken the lead on the investigation in consultation with CN Police. Edenwold is located 45 kilometres northeast of Regina.
