Carnduff RCMP say over 70 weapons were taken in a break and enter at a home outside of Storthoaks in southeast Saskatchewan while the owner of the home was away for six weeks. Police say the owner returned to find that his home had been broken into. Multiple items were stolen from the home including a large quantity of firearms. Of the guns taken there are 46 prohibited handguns, 27 restricted handguns, 3 prohibited rifles, one restricted rifle and an unknown quantity of ammunition. It’s believed that the firearms had been stored according to regulations. The Yorkton Forensic Identification Section, Canadian Firearms Program and Chief Firearms officer of Saskatchewan, National Weapons Enforcement Support Team along with Canadian Border Services are investigating the incident.
