The N-D-P M-L-A for Athabasca feels the province needs a more inclusive approach toward reducing crime.

Buckley Belanger says frustration is widespread about crime which impacts all communities and ethnic groups.

Belanger told the legislature the government should be consulting with all stakeholders to get to the root causes of crime in an effort to find workable solutions.

The Sask Party’s amendment to the Police Act would allow municipalities of under 500 residents to join regional policing services.

The current legislation only allows their involvement under limited circumstances.
