It’s a day to recognize those that give of themselves.
National Philanthropy Day is a day that highlights those that helped to make a better world in some way through fundraising, volunteering or donations.
The Saskatoon chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals luncheon honours local volunteers and organizations.
Co-chair of the event, Roxanne McHattie, says when people think of philanthropy those big million dollar cheques being handed over to an organization may come to mind, but philanthropy is everywhere.
That includes anyone who is volunteering their time as an individual or with a group, being a board member, helping with fundraising, or by donation of any size.
Some of this year’s honourees are the Prairie Spirit School Foundation and CHEP Good Food.
