Saskatoon Transit has zeroed in on Attridge Drive and Rever Road as part of over 10-million dollars in infrastructure improvements.
Acting Director Mike Moellenbeck says two shelters in that area are among the seven that have been built or replaced this year.
He adds Attridge and Rever will be a major transfer point and is part of the city’s plan for Bus Rapid Transit.
Moellenbeck says the higher curbs built at that location will provided faster and easier wheelchair access while work has also been done to connect sidewalks for riders using those locations.
He says three-quarters of riders who took part in a survey asked for improvements at Attridge and Rever.
Saskatoon Transit’s infrastructure plan for 2019 includes fourteen shelters, accessibility improvements at twenty-two locations in addition to upgrades of several sidewalks.
The cost is being split between the city and federal government.
