About 300 youth leaders from across Canada are in Saskatoon today (thurs) for the start of a three-day conference on creating stronger relationships between Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. The conference is being put on by Canadian Roots Exchange. Executive Director Max FineDay dismisses older Canadians who he thinks are struggling with what reconciliation means. He says, “Youth involved with Canadian Roots Exchange aren’t waiting for them to figure it out.” He says this gathering will bring young leaders together who are leading by example. The conference is being held at the University of Saskatchewan.
