With the lighting of the tree inside city hall and the donation of the first gift by Saskatoon Mayor Charlie Clark, the annual CJWW Denny Carr Secret Santa campaign is underway.
The campaign, now into its 35th year, has provided help for 50-thousand families and gifts for over 100-thousand children.
Donations of new unwrapped toys are being accepted at several locations around the city listed at www.saskatoonsecretsanta.ca.
Cash donations are also being accepted online at that address.
Gifts, books and food hampers will go to 800 families this year with the food courtesy of Saskatoon Co-op.
Secret Santa was founded by late radio personality Denny Carr and the foundation was established after his passing in 1999.
