It’s that time of year again. The annual Secret Santa kickoff is today [tues] at noon in the front lobby at City Hall. CJWW Denny Carr Secret Santa is a tradition in this city, dating back to 1983 when it was founded by late radio personality Denny Carr. He wanted to make sure that all of Saskatoon’s children would receive a new toy at Christmas. 35 years later, nearly 100 thousand children and 50 thousand families have been helped by the Foundation that was established after Denny passed away in 1999. This year, there will be 800 families with young children who will receive toys, books, and food hampers for Christmas. You can join us in this endeavour with cash donations or new, unwrapped toys. Thanks to Saskatoon Co-op there will be 800 well-stocked food hampers distributed for the holidays. Drop off locations for toys and details regarding online contributions can be found at www.saskatoonsecretsanta.ca.
