A 44 year old man is in custody and is facing a number of charges following a disturbance in the downtown area Saturday night.
Just before 6:30, police received calls from two convenience stores downtown.
Both calls reported a man taking items without paying for them and threatening staff.
Once officers arrived, they found the man on 3rd Avenue South and police say a short foot chase took place.
The man then turned on an officer and approached the officer in a threatening manner.
The officer then deployed his conductive energy weapon or CEW and the suspect was then taking into custody.
The suspect was not injured and the 44 year old is facing multiple charges including theft and uttering threats.
The suspect will appear before a Justice of the Peace on Sunday.
