The Children’s Discovery Museum has offered to donate materials from the Market Mall space to the Saskatoon Open Door Society. Damage from a flood in the mall in September forced the museum to close its doors earlier than originally planned. With the museum left without a location until next spring when the old Mendel Art Gallery becomes the new home of the Children’s Discovery Museum, the museum says it’s pleased to pass along books, stuffed animals, building sets and other items to the Open Door Society.
The Executive Director of the Children’s Discovery Museum, Amanda McReynolds Doran says they’re saddened by the early closure of their Market Mall location although they knew they salvaged many educational items that they knew another non-profit organization would appreciate.
