Hockey will make its return to Perdue in the new-year.
The new arena is in the final phase of construction.
Arena Association Secretary Vivian Eaton say workers are completing the boards, players benches and lobby while also installing showers and washrooms in the dressing rooms.
Eaton says the arena has bookings for almost every Saturday in January and February including tournaments involving city teams.
A senior men’s team and two minor hockey teams will be the main tenants.
Eaton says the entire community is excited to have a focal point of the village back after three winters without a facility.
The former rink burned down in May of 2015 and the community quickly began replacement plans with the foundation of the new rink being poured in the fall of 2016.
