In the legislature this morning, NDP leader Ryan Meili challenged the government about deficiencies in providing the people in the province with access to care they need and the care to which they are entitled as residents of Saskatchewan. The story broke this week that Saskatoon was losing its two gynecological oncologists.
Meili points out uterine cancer, cervical cancer and ovarian cancer are serious conditions.
“Conditions for which Saskatchewan women should not be left wondering whether when they need care, it will be available.”
Meili says Regina is also losing one of its gynecological oncologists. Premier Scott Moe says there is much competition not just across Canada but across North America for this particular specialist.
