Chris Jones of the Riders is the western nominee for CFL coach of the year. The Riders won 9 of their last 11 games to finish at 12-6 and secure home field advantage for Sunday’s Western semi-final against Winnipeg.
Meanwhile Rider receiver Jordan-Williams Lambert is the western nominee as top rookie. The Ball State grad led the team with 62 catches for 764 yards and four touchdowns.
Winnipeg middle-linebcker Adam Bighill grabbed the western nomination as top defensive player, Blue Bombers running back Andrew Harris goes for top Canadian after winning the league’s rushing title and team mate Stanley Bryant is the West’s top offensive lineman.
Calgary quarterback Bo Levi Mitchell was named the most outstanding player in the Western Division.
