The Saskatoon Police Service says it is investigating two incidents where customers using an ATM at two different locations were robbed at knife point.
The first robbery was at 1 o’clock this past Saturday at an ATM in the 100 block of 1st Avenue South. The 63 year old woman was using the ATM when she was threatened by a man with a paring knife and then knocked to the ground. The robber took off on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
At 9:45 Saturday night, what is believed to be the same male suspect entered an ATM vestibule in the 2800 block of 8th Street East and threatened a 43 year old woman with a machete before again taking off with the cash on foot. Neither woman suffered injuries.
The suspect is described as 5 foot 10 in height with a slim build wearing red and grey running shoes, a dark grey hoodie, black pants, black ball cap and a purple paisley bandana covering his face. Surveillance photos are in this story at cjwwradio.com.
