An event in Warman on Wednesday will cover the history of Treaties and the Treaty relations, where we are now with race relations and what can be done to respond to the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action.
It’s called Rural Reconciliation: An Educational Gathering.
The event was organized by a Regional Reconciliation Committee which has over 40 representatives from surrounding communities including Warman, Martensville, One Arrow First Nation, Osler and the Mistawasis First Nation.
It will be co-emceed by One Arrow First Nation Chief Tricia Sutherland and Warman Mayor Sheryl Spence.
Reconciliation Committee member Amanda Dodge says their group formed in January and they have had some education events for their group, but this is their first public event.
It’s at the Brian King Centre in Warman from 9 to 3:30 tomorrow (Wed).
