The Saskatchewan Rattlers, the city of Saskatoon and SaskTel Centre will have the distinction of hosting the first ever game to be played in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.
The new hoops circuit will start their inaugural 2019 season on Thursday, May 19 when the Rattlers host the Niagara River Lions at 7 p.m. Each team will play 20 games over 15 weeks…10 at home and 10 on the road. The final day of the regular season will be August 15 with the top four of six teams advancing to a championship weekend tournament…location and date yet to be determined. The C-E-B-L says their rosters will be made up of at least 70% Canadian talent. Season tickets are expected to go on sale later this month through Ticketmaster.
