Local residents helped in the recapture of a man who escaped from the Willow Cree Healing Lodge on the Beardy’s First Nation.
Prince Albert RCMP say Louis Bonneau escaped on Sunday, then around 4:30 Tuesday afternoon, officers were told there had been a possible sighting in the Macdowell area.
When they arrived, they found a number of residents had set up containment around a farmyard, where he had last been seen.
Police say Bonneau surrendered and was taken to hospital for treatment of prolonged exposure. He is expected to recover.
The investigation is ongoing.
