C-A-A Saskatchewan says drivers and parents have roles to play to keep kids safe on Halloween.
Director of Communications Christine Niemczyk suggests adding reflective tape to already bright costumes that don’t restrict vision of hearing.
She recommends drivers stay off the road during peak trick-or-treating hours and if you have to drive, travel about 10 km an hour below the speed limits through school zones and residential areas.
Niemczyk also says use hazard lights and safe zones when picking up or dropping off kids and cautions motorists to be careful when backing out of driveways while also watching for excited children running to their next trick-or treat destination.
