Taking place at the new Merlis Belsher Place on the University of Saskatchewan campus Saturday is the facility’s official grand opening.
From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., there will be giveaways, face painting, balloons, music, and free coffee and hot chocolate.
Starting at 10 there will be a public skate with Howler on the community rink.
Then between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. there will be an opportunity to meet Dave King, a Canada men’s Olympic hockey team coach and then from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., those attending the event will be able to try sledge hockey.
To wrap up the day’s events, the U of S Huskies women’s hockey team will take to the ice at 7 p.m. vs Regina.
