Two teams with identical records collide Friday night in Red Deer.
Both the Rebels and Saskatoon Blades sport records of 8-4-1 for 17 points. The difference is, that point total has Red Deer atop the Central Division while the Bridge City Bunch are second in the East Division…11 points back of runaway-leading Prince Albert.
This will, already, be the third meeting out of four this season between the Bridge City Bunch and the Rebels. Each team has won a game at home so far. Friday night’s contest begins the first three games-in-three nights stretch of the season for the Blue and Gold. Also, starting with Friday, the Blades play 12 of their next 16 games away from Saskatoon…including a tour of the B-C Division that wraps up December 1 in Kelowna. By that time, depending on how well they do, the Bridge City Bunch should have a pretty good idea of how they’ll stack up this season.
It’s expected that newcomer Gary Hayden will take the spot of Logan Christensen..centring the Blue and Gold’s third line, at least to start. Those two 19-year-olds changed teams with yesterday’s trade between the Blades and Medicine Hat.
First faceoff is 7 p.m. at SaskTel Centre with the Sardinia Family Restaurant pre-game show signing on at 6 on 98-COOL.
