The third session of the 28th Legislature begins with the Throne Speech tomorrow (Wed) and the President of the Saskatchewan Teachers’ Federation is hoping there will be some good news in it for teachers. Patrick Maze says STF members are looking for some indication of new education operating funding to meet the demands of increasing enrolment, with the two biggest issues for teachers this fall being class size and class composition. Maze explains that in many areas of the province, there are too many children with complex needs in schools with too few teachers. The STF is calling for a sustainable, predictable education funding formula to meet the increasing demands.
