On Friday morning at 9:30, Maidstone RCMP received a call about an abandoned vehicle located in the RM of Wilton.
An officer was in the area and saw another suspicious vehicle with two people inside.
The vehicle happened to be stolen, the officer then attempted to stop the vehicle.
The vehicle fled, and sped through a construction zone therefore the chase was not pursued.
A short time later the vehicle was abandoned and a truck and trailer were reported stolen from the same area.
The trailer was located a short time later although the truck was still missing.
A rural crime group spotted the stolen truck north of Highway 3 trying to access homes.
Officers then located the suspects at 11:30 as they headed north on Highway 17 towards Onion Lake.
Two attempts were made with spikebelts to stop the vehicle, however the suspects continued to drive until there was no rubber left on the tires.
It’s alleged the suspects fled into the bush.
One was then arrested without incident while a Conducted Energy Device was used to gain control of the second suspect.
41 year old Wayne Mcgilvery and 21 year old Tyrell Rowan both of Frog Lake, Alberta are facing multiple charges including resisting arrest.
The two will appear in court on Tuesday.
