Pierceland RCMP say a two vehicle collision shortly before 8 yesterday morning was between a pick up truck and a school bus. The man driving the pick up was declared deceased on scene. A woman passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The truck involved in the accident had been reported stolen out of Cold Lake, Alberta. There were no passengers on the school bus at the time of the crash and no other injuries were reported in the accident.

RCMP say their investigation so far indicates the pick up was heading west while the school bus was northbound and when they collided, the bus and the truck ended up in the ditch with the bus on its side and the truck remaining upright. The accident happened at the intersection of township road 623 and range road 32-54 in the RM of Beaver River. An RCMP collision reconstructionist continues to investigate.
