Statistics Canada says the consumer price index in September was 2.2% per cent compared with a year ago. The annual pace of inflation compared with an increase of 2.8 per cent set in August. Saskatchewan’s rate fell to 1.8 per cent from 2.2. Four provinces were lower. Saskatoon also dropped to 1.8. It had been 2.0 per cent. Of 16 cities surveyed, only three had lower rates. Regina was also at 1.8 per cent.
