Today kicks off Small Business Week in Saskatchewan and DonnaLyn Thorsteinson with the Saskatoon Regional Economic Development Authority describes it as an opportunity for small businesses.
There is something happening every day from sessions on book keeping and raising capital to discovering different regions in our province like Warman and Martensville. Thorsteinson says if you go to Squareonesask.ca you can check out a list of the week’s events and businesses can sign up at anytime.
A small businesses is one with fewer than 50 employees. She says small business accounts for 99% of almost all of the businesses in our province and small business made up 31 per cent of the province’s GDP in 2016, which is 3rd in Canada.
In addition to the smaller information sessions there are also trade shows in both Regina and Saskatoon on Thursday. In Saskatoon it is bizconYXE and in Regina it is the Business to Business Expo.
