Employees at a convenience store in Saskatoon say they were robbed by the same person twice, only minutes apart. Around three o’clock in the morning last Friday, a male armed with a knife is reported to have entered the store on the thousand block of McKercher Drive, demanding cash and cigarettes. He ran off and the employees called police. Then, they say he came back, demanding more cigarettes and a ring that one of the employees was wearing. When he couldn’t get the ring off, it’s alleged the suspect hit the employee and ran off. At that moment, officers arrived and chased the suspect to a parking lot. A conducted energy weapon was used when police allege the suspect didn’t comply with their commands. He was arrested, and taken to hospital by Medavie Health Services for minor injuries. Officers were able to locate a number of the stolen items along the route of the foot pursuit. A 24 year old Meadow Lake man is facing charges.
