An Edmonton company pleaded guilty under Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety regulations and has been fined $100-thousand.
Heartland Livestock Services was charged after an accident in 2016 at a worksite near Lloydminster, where a worker sustained serious facial injuries after being hit in the face by a metal gate while trying to get a heifer into a holding pen.
The charge from OHS was failing to provide, as far as is reasonable able, the health and safety and welfare of a worker.
The company was fined over $71-thousand plus an over $28-thousand surcharge.
