The City of Yorkton was one of 2 municipalities in Canada chosen to take part in the Jordan Municipal Support Program. As part of that, city councilor Randy Goulden says a team went to the Kingdom of Jordan for 12 days to primarily discuss solid waste management. But she says another topic cropped up. What she found with three of the municipalities they visited, was the need for snow removal; not something you would think of when you think of Jordan. She says many of their communities are located in the mountains and they have challenges with snow removal. Colchester County, Nova Scotia, was the other Canadian municipality chosen for the project, implemented by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities.
