A 37 year old North Battleford man has been charged in connection to an RCMP investigation into an incident where an officer was injured during a traffic stop on Highway 40 on Monday morning.
William Rhode is facing multiple charges including assaulting a police officer causing bodily harm and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
Rhode appeared in court this morning (Tues) and has been remanded in custody until his next court date.
Police report that the officer was next to the vehicle attempting to prevent the driver from fleeing.
As the vehicle went by, the officer fell and was run over.
RCMP say the injuries sustained in the incident were not as serious as first believed, considering how dangerous the situation was.
