A Saskatoon Police Service member is home after a third tour of duty as a United Nations peace keeper. Inspector Lorne Constantinoff was in Baghdad Iraq working alongside his Canadian counterparts as part of a 74 nation support team after the reclaiming of occupied territory. Constantinoff wasn’t able to interact with Iraqi citizens as he was restricted to the military camp where he helped coordinate the administration of justice and professional policing standards. Constantinoff says wading through international bureaucracy in a military setting is one the biggest challenges. This was Constantinoff’s third tour of duty. He says the opportunity to serve his country while growing professionally are the reasons he keeps going back. Constantinoff says it was a valuable and humbling experience and is thankful for the support of family, friends and the Saskatoon Police Service.
