Close to 300 runners bundled up for the 2018 EY River Run Classic Sunday.
The chilly minus six temperature for the 8am start at the Saskatoon Farmers Market didn’t slow down Saskatoon’s Cory Sellers. He won the 5km race crossing the finish line in 19:55 with the ladies champion Rilla Johnson of Saskatoon coming in 37-seconds later. Chris Duffy of Saskatoon was third in 21:09.
Meanwhile, Micheal Middlemiss of Regina recorded a winning time of 33:59 in the 10km event to also capture the Saskatchewan championship. Daniel Block of Dalmeny finished second in 35:27. Saskatoon’s Matthijs Wenning was third just six seconds back of Block. The women’s 10km champion was Celeste Cross Child of Saskatoon in a time of 41:21. There were 184 runners in the 10km race and 113 in the 5km run.
