Members of a CUPE local that represents those in non-academic positions at the University of Saskatchewan have voted in favour of job action.
The president of CUPE local 1975 says the main sticking point is the pension plan.
The local, which as 1900 members, is trying to negotiate language in the collective agreement to protect their right to continue bargaining all pension changes at the bargaining table.
Craig Hannah says the union has served written notice to the university and the Minister of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety stating that the two sides have reached an impasse.
The local will work with the Ministry-appointed conciliator to reach a deal.
There are no current plans for job action.
