The Saskatchewan Rate Review Panel will review SaskEnergy’s application to lower its Commodity rate from $3.65 per Gigajoule to $2.65. The Crown Company wants it to take effect April 1st. It is also proposing to lower the Commodity Rate to $2.95 effective November 1st on an interim basis. The company wants customers to be able to take advantage of a lower price during the heating season. The Panel is inviting public input on the application. All methods of communicating with the Panel, including the date and location of public meetings, will be advertised. The Panel can only make recommendations. The provincial Cabinet has the final say.
