Unity RCMP along other emergency services responded to the scene of a fatal accident Friday at Highway 14 and a service road in Unity.
The initial investigation suggests the 89 year old driver and lone occupant of the Dodge Caravan crossed over Highway 14 into the path of a Ford Flex which was heading east.
The driver of the Caravan was taken to hospital in Unity where he was later pronounced dead. The name of the 89 year old man from the Unity area will not be released until all of the family has been notified.
The 63 year old man who was the driver of the Ford Flex is from Saskatoon and was treated and released from Unity hospital.
Traffic was re-routed for a few hours however traffic has returned to normal.
The cause of accident is still under investigation and alcohol was not a factor.
